On Morality and Secularism

The Second Pillar of Western Secularity

Imam Marc Manley ·

﷽ Some thoughts on morality and secularism: In the secular West, the populace (including those who still cling to religion) has been cajoled into accepting that morality can be defined and accomplished by reducing it, and confining it to, an individual performances. But what people actually desire and demand is a standard to which all people can, and must, be held to. But by what apparatus can secularism conscript a social body of people into holding themselves and those around them to accountability? Ironically, secularism, and its mascot, atheism, by definition, must eschew any obeisance to authority external to the self. This is the second pillar of western secularity (the first being there is no god and I am His messenger).
