The Modernist Muslim

There is no greater indication of the modernist mindset than the one who makes false gestures towards humility and piety by claiming that they are not a scholar while in the very same sentence they not only dismiss what scholars have said but feel no sense of need or urgency to know what scholars before them have said on a matter. Instead, such individuals, relying purely on their own speculative thinking, collapse Islam into an artificial, one-dimensional — not reality — but fantasy.
